The Spider and the Fly
by Mary Howitt and Tony DiTerlizzi – This is one of the best children’s books I’ve seen in a while. If you haven’t seen it you need to run to the library … hurry … RUN! (Grades 1-6)
Where the Sidewalk Ends
by Shel Silverstein - This book is simply the greatest book ever written. I loved it as a kid and I still love it today. (Grade 3 and up)
Edgar Allan Poe's Tales of Mystery and Madness
by Edgar Allen Poe and Gris Grimly - This book is for older kids and is spooky - but great. Edgar Allen Poe is a brilliant writer - and Gris Grimly is a stupendous illustrator. The perfect combo! (Grade 6 and up)
Cautionary Tales for Children
by Hilaire Belloc and Edward Gorey - This book is for older kids and adults. It is very spooky and funny at the same time! I've read it 100 times and still laugh, and then I run upstairs and hide. (Grade 8 and up)
